Working With Zerene Stacker For Added Depth of Field
Zerene Stacker is software that allows you to merge together images taken of the same subject at different points of focus and merge them together for a deeper depth of field. This is especially useful when working with small objects photographed very close.

The trees are in full bloom here in the Willamette Valley
Standing in line for lunch yesterday at Lewis and Clark College in Portland I spotted this partially lighted tree. I did have the trusty point and shoot with me. Back light is hard to tame but I was pretty happy with this shot. Be sure to click on the image for full size.

The flowers used are gladiola, iris, rhodie, daffodil and one tulip tree bloom. Hope you enjoy. They were fun to make.
Photo Art
After looking at all of the “photography” that I keep seeing on different sites and in our club competitions I have come to the conclusion and I may be being a bit of a purest on images that I am shooting. I try to shoot what I see and process it the same way. With Lightroom and Photoshop I think it is time to start playing a little bit. This is going to be a bit of a challenge for me as my artistic ability other than photography is limited to very poor stick figure drawings. I guess we will see where it all leads. I know I’d still much rather be out shooting than sitting here doing post production work.
This image was taken at Newport, Oregon. I will say that it was not foggy when I took the shot. The boats in the background were tack sharp. Here begins my jump into what I will call Photo Art. (click on the image for full size)

Where to draw the line?
If you are at all prolific on the Internet it is interesting to go to different search engines and type in your name or your business name and see the results you come up with. An engine I had not used is http://duckduckgo.com/ so I thought I would give it a spin. In doing so I found this.. http://usat.ly/zPpbk8 I shortened it to post it but it is safe. I sure don’t remember giving permission to use the image. I also find sometimes I forget who I let use images for self promotion. On the other hand the exposure is nice. Sometimes it can be tough figuring out where to draw the line.
