Alaska 2010 Daily News and Photo:
June 3rd Juneau, Alaska,
What a day this one was. Actually it was everything I expected and more! Before I get into this any more I really want to thank Chip at Temsco for the flight today. Awesome would be an understatement.
Jonna rented a car for the day and came out to the airport to see me off and shoot some video. While I was off flying around and walking on glaciers she went shopping and then came back and picked me up. From the airport we drove up the coast looking for critters and then stopped at the lower end of Mendenhall Glacier to get a few shots and some video of the glacier from a lower point.
Back to the flight a little.. I ended up in the the right seat again this trip and also ended up with Chip for my pilot. He is the same pilot I flew with five years ago and he remembered me. The weather was such that we were going to end up flying into the same two glaciers the I flew into last time. Chip said the being that this was the case to show him which route he took last time and the landing locations. He built today's flight on different routes and landing places on both Herbert and Mendenhall. We went into a couple of places that he hadn't been into yet this year. Both were fantastic.
I could go on about this for hours so I will quit for now. Yes there is another bonus shot today. It is a shot of me taken by Chip. Thanks again.
Friday is Skagway and the steam train. |
