Alaska 2010 Daily News and Photo:
June 6th College Fjord, Alaska (Cruising),
We cruised and we looked and we watched. The weather cleared and you couldn't have asked for a better day. As far as wildlife there were the normal Alaska sightings of eagles, a black bear, a couple of Orcas', a whale, a dozen or so sea otters and some Harbor Seals. Nothing out of the norm for a day like this.
On top of the critters there were snow covered mountains, a bunch of glaciers and some icebergs. All again expected for a day like this in College Fjord. Some days just work right and this was one of them.
Sunset tonight is about 11:30 and I probably won't stay up for it. On the other hand you never know. We are due into Whittier around 12:30 AM. Most of the passengers will be getting off around 8:00 AM to make room for the new ones. We will be wandering off in the early afternoon to do a little excursion.
Oh I almost forgot. No I didn't. I just want to see how many people will read all of the way to the bottom. It's the bonus photo and probably my most prized of the week ;-) |
