Alaska 2010 Daily News and Photo:
June 8th Hubbard Glacier, Alaska (Cruising),
Well the Weather Gods are hanging in there with us. We made a little jog into Hubbard Glacier today. Before we headed into the bay it was 65 deg. As we approached this six mile wide wall of ice it really cooled off but a medium weight jacket took care of that problem.
As you can see the sun was out and this glacier with the mountains behind it was quite a sight. We did get closer than the ten miles or so than we where when I took this shot but due to ice in the water we were held a couple of miles out. While there was ice in the water we didn't see the number of seals we saw last week in Glacier Bay. That is alright. We are back in Glacier Bay tomorrow. I think that is Wednesday but I'm not sure. It is easy to forget what day it is on a cruise like this. |
