You may remember that Whittier was a bust as far as wild life watching went from a boat. I don't know if they have it fixed or not.
With the refund from that trip I opted in on a photographers trip that included whale watching and a return trip to Mendenhall Glacier. They said that if you didn't see whales on the trip you would get $100 of your paid price refunded. As you can see I didn't get any money back. I will settle for the non refund.
While I had been to Mendenhall last week another day just means different lighting and ice being in different places. These can both be good things. I spotted the two people in the double place kayak and thought it was a great way to show perspective. The face of the glacier and some of those 'bergs are both pretty good size. I have seen those icebergs roll over and there is no way you would catch me that close to them in a kayak.
Tomorrow is Saturday and that must be Ketchikan. The weather is calling for rain. Ketchikan gets about 12 FEET of rain a year so it is to be expected. |
