I was asked today if I could come up with some images for a show that will be running in June. I was very happy to get the invitation as the show is at one of the galleries covered on the Eugene First Friday Art Walk.They are looking for “fine art” type images and are really leaning towards black and white.
What a shame! Asking me for black and whites.. The kind of request I love. I am entering one pretty recent image. Actually it is hanging in a current show. I think Earth Day is one of the better ideas they have come up as far as special days to celebrate. They have golf day, coffee cup day, wash your dog day and so many others that they are starting to overlap. I feel Earth Day is one of the needed ones.
This is really a cause that needs more discussion being that humans have determined to overpopulate the earth and destroy it. While man tries to keep the universe from evolving to keep the earth from changing they can’t figure out how to put a candy bar wrapper or an empty water bottle back in their pocket and carry it back to their fancy car that they spent 10’s of thousands of dollars on so they can end pollution. Throw the trash on the ground but the air will be clean! How many tons of coal did they burn in Japan or Korea to build the car that will save the world while they drive around throwing McDonald’s bags out the window.

A project from a while back. Images of my ’56 Stude shot for monochrome and square format. It was shot with a Canon 40 D and I used two lenses. The Canon 50mm F1.8 and the old 100mm Macro F2.8. Don’t forget that polarizing filter! They are both fun lenses to work with. Hope you enjoy!
