PhotoZone Juried Show 2013

I have done pretty well in past years at the PhotoZone show. I was forced to skip it last year as I was in Chicago but I am back this year with three images. I should know early in the week how many of them, if any, make the cut. I entered the images below….

Our Guard Bird

This male Anna’s Hummingbird has taken up sentry duty at our front door. There is a feeder there and he has a pair of hiding places where he sits in wait of other hummingbirds headed into “his” feeder.

Milking the Milkweed Seeds

Getting all that I could out of this before all of the seeds fall off. This setup has been out on the bench for a week or better. Finally shot it today. 5D MK II, Canon 100mm F2.8 Macro. F6.3 @ 1/8 second. 79 images stacked in Zerene Stacker for depth of field. Final B/W done…

Car-wash North Carolina Style

Got the car washed at Bridalveil Falls in North Carolina today. There is actually a turn off on the road to drive under the falls. The big thing I see missing down here on any of the rivers or waterfalls is the moss we have in Oregon. Also no soap at the carwash. Pretty cool…

Smoke Play

I need some shots for a “Simplicity” theme and decided some smoke images would be fun. They may be a little complex for the theme but it was fun to get out the smoke and flash and play around a little bit in Photoshop. Be sure to click on the images to see the larger ones.
