Well I’d like to blame this on my kid but I have been going to start this project for a while now. The Studebaker went to a new home a few months ago and it has left an empty place in the garage. It is an interesting concept for this place as I have had a boat or the Stude parked in the garage as long as I have owned the house.
The Honda 70 was Jonna’s before we got married. She got it as a Christmas present in ’75 and rode it back and forth to school. For the past 20+ years it has been living in my lawn shed. I did have it running about 10 years ago.

I sure wish I had drained the gas tank and carb when I put it up last. Oh well. It wouldn’t’ be a project if I didn’t have to work on it.

It lives!! Carb went back together with no problems and I only had to make one gasket. It took a little bit of kicking to get it to start that first time in over 10 years but it really runs well. Clean up is continuing.

In cleanup mode with the pegs and kickstand with new paint and the skid plate and front fender all cleaned up. I did another little test ride and noticed a leak in the exhaust pipe. It was under a clamp so I took the clamp off to get a better look. It is supposed to be a one piece pipe but is rusted into two pieces. New aftermarket muffler on order.

Fenders and trim back on the bike. Front wheel is off and pulled apart. All of the rolling bits look great. I ordered the muffler this morning. It is really coming along nicely.
