Valley Of Fire Bighorn

On a recent vacation to Las Vegas we spent a day wandering around at Valley Of Fire State Park about 40 miles north of town. I had been watching for Bighorn Sheep for a couple of days as the day prior we had been down at Hoover Dam.

After sitting out a short road closure due to the filming of a Mercedes commercial we wandered over to Mouses Tank. and ran across this small group of the sheep. There were five of them in the group and from what some locals said, they are pretty common in that area.

A few Autumn images from past years

We have entered my favorite time of the year. The comfortable days and cool nights along with shorter daylight start the magic of nature with the changing colors in the leafs. The images below are from the past few years. In a few weeks it will be time to get out and start shooting for this year. (Be sure to click on the small images for the full size version.)

Cascades Air Show

I had the chance to attend the Cascades Air Show in Madras, Oregon a few weeks ago. It was my first time at this type of event and it was a ball. I went out with the intention of getting some images that I could convert to black and white so the images would more match the era of the aircraft.

I had the pleasure of meeting David Baxter of Biplanes Northwest and getting the chance to shoot his two beautiful Starduster biplanes. I’d like to say thank you to him for bringing them out. They were a joy to see and shoot.

Here are a hand full of my favorites from the show. Be sure to click on the thumbnails to see the full size image.

1961 Corvette

While at the Springfield Car show yesterday I was shooting low angle shots of a ’53 Bel Air. To get the angle I wanted I had the camera just about on the ground and was using an angled view finder so I could see what I was doing without having my chin on the grass….
